Grid/patchwork compositions are very compartmented, which enables to use different styles for each box, creating a variation of colours and visual effects on the page. You can make it as easy or as intricate as you want, that's the beauty of it.
Check on Pinterest for inspiration, and watch the video from the Daisy Yellow website about Grid Composition. It will give you loads of ideas on what you can do with this kind of composition.
For the challenge, you can use the example on the video, or draw a grid on your page (it does not have to be regular) and fill in all the boxes with doodles, words, photos, collage, colours, anything you can think of. You can stick to one type (e.g. colours) or a mixture of the above.
